Inside the install

The boring details that decide whether your aircon lasts ten years.

Most failures we see on year-two units come from rushed installations: cheap copper, sloppy flaring, no insulation on the drainage line, brackets fixed into render instead of brick. We refuse to skip those steps — even when a neighbour's installer did the same job for RM 80 less.

What we fit, by default: 1/4" + 3/8" lined copper (or 1/2" + 5/8" for 2.5HP+), full-length nitrile insulation, UV-jacketed drainage hose with a slope check, and a four-bolt bracket into the original masonry.

Pre-install survey

Room HP load check, drainage gradient, bracket location, distance run for piping. Sent in writing before we book.

Materials, no surcharge

4m copper pair, insulation, drainage hose, four-bolt bracket, drilling consumables — all included in the standard fee.

Vacuum & pressure test

Indoor and outdoor pressure-tested with nitrogen, then vacuumed to under 500 microns before opening valves.

Cool-test & logbook

Supply-air °C measured at the louvre. Job sheet emailed with model, serial and refrigerant figures within 24 hours.

Confirmed in writing after the pre-install survey. Longer pipe runs, brick-wall coring, and condenser cage work are quoted as extras — never sneaked in afterwards.

1HP wall split

From RM 320 · 4m piping included, standard wall fix.

2HP wall split

From RM 420 · uprated piping, heavier bracket.

2.5HP & 3HP units

From RM 580 · larger gauge copper, additional bracket bolts.

Replacement (like-for-like)

From RM 260 · uninstall old unit, reuse sound piping, fit new indoor + outdoor.

Repair bills are stacking up, R22 refills are scarce, and the SEER rating is well below modern inverter units.

You've just renovated

New ceiling, new wall position, condenser needs to move to comply with strata rules — we plan and re-route cleanly.

The compressor failed

On older non-inverter units, replacing the compressor often costs 60–70% of a new unit. We'll do the maths honestly.

New tenant, new HVAC need

Co-working, clinic, F&B — we right-size the HP load and lay out the condenser bank to keep the neighbours happy.
